Using play therapy and supportive psychotherapy, I work with children and teens of all ages who are struggling with:
- depression/anxiety
- difficulty regulating emotions
- hyperactivity
- difficulty with transitions
- low self-esteem
- school difficulties
- peer issues
- trauma/abuse
- family conflict/divorce
- grief and loss
I also offer parent support services to help you and your children achieve a more peaceful and loving family!
What to Expect:
When I first meet with your child, appointments will focus on getting to know your child, building trust and developing an understanding of your child’s unique needs. In subsequent appointments, I will work with your child to reduce symptoms, build strengths and enhance his/her inner well-being. I will also meet with you periodically to collaborate on the treatment process. Sessions are typically weekly and are 55 minutes in length (45 minutes for some children, when appropriate).
With children, I use a combination of play therapy and supportive psychotherapy. Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy that allows children to communicate inner experiences and feelings and resolve psychosocial challenges. By being a part of the play therapy process, I can better understand a child’s inner world and help them develop the skills they need to feel happy and successful.
